So the last couple of weeks have been a bit brutal in the whole “Dont Die Diet Plan”. Between oral surgery, failed surgery, bone growth, Girl scout cookies, easter m&ms, cold from hell, new job and now a new finding: bone spur in the joint of my big toe, walking has been on the back burner…in the house down the street.
In other words, it has not been a priority.
This week after finding out why my big toe has been bugging me so badly, I have gingerly started walking again. 2 days in a row walking nearly a mile. One time was with my bickering biking children, so really I feel I earned bonus mileage for making sure we all made it home together.
…there were moments, let me tell ya.
My 5k is in 2 days. Tonight I did the treadmill at the YMCA and I managed a “2k” according to my trusty screen trainer. My toe is not happy, but Im hoping the chiropractor visit tomorrow will help and i’ll be strapping miles of kinesiology tape to my foot.
Did i mention my youngest is 5king with me?! My kid who complains when we walk down the street, so yea…this will be interesting. The medal is what inspired her.
Girls do crazy things for shiny accessories. I just hope I can be a non-whining, non-crying strong and positive role model.
Lord knows I will want to quit many times before it’s over.
Also, I will have a dear friend walking with me so there’s motivation there. Between the 2 of us I think we have 2 good feet.
We can do this! (Hopefully without crutches after) 😆
